Our Story

Since 2012, longtime sewer and Amherst, MA native Sasha L has been making handcrafted bags that celebrate color and outlast the elements. Now, years later, she’s the mind and the sewing machine behind Seven Sadie Lane, producing handmade products fit for all ages. These products are designed for active lifestyles, from the world-traveler to the parent-on-the-go.

As an avid cyclist, human rights researcher, and the granddaughter of a fabric store owner, Sasha Lansky brings her own life experience to her products, making bags that are versatile, durable, and, most of all, vibrant. The water-resistant oil cloth line brings a pop of retro color, featuring bags fit for cosmetics, toiletries, or even a Kindle. The pagne line, made from cotton wax print sourced directly from independent sellers in Yaoundé, offers the rich color and design of Cameroon’s capital.

In its third year, Seven Sadie Lane introduced a line of reusable snack bags, made from food-grade, BPA-free materials, the perfect alternative to disposable plastic bags. Live your values and teach your kiddos how to live waste-free with bags that are machine washable, eco-friendly, and most importantly, cuter than a Ziploc.

Beginning in March 2020, Seven Sadie Lane began sewing cotton facemasks in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Seven Sadie Lane has remained committed to donating masks alongside those it sells. The company has donated nearly 500 masks to institutions serving vulnerable individuals in California, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New York.

Seven Sadie Lane is constantly creating and is thrilled to now offer custom quilts in its lineup. Made to order, these heirloom-quality quilts are designed and sewn with care. They make the perfect present to commemorate a life cycle event

After completing a long-anticipated move to Washington, DC in the Spring of 2022, Seven Sadie Lane is working to expand its mid-Atlantic market. Maintaining its identity as a small, woman-owned business, Seven Sadie Lane is excited to share its colorful, durable products with the Washington metro area!

All items are made to order in Washington, DC.
