The 7SL backstory
Our new foray into ultralight technical bags is perhaps where Seven Sadie Lane has been heading since its inception. As a hiker, bicycle tourer, and avid gear collector, I have always been driven to make practical, durable, and utilitarian, yet charming bags.
At 17 years old, I designed a pattern for and sewed a messenger bag - complete with a padded laptop sleeve and three internal zipper pockets - that I used for school. I used heavy duty canvas and corduroy.
And now, thanks to some super US-based fabric companies, I’ve gotten my hands on x-pac, cordura, nylon, and other light, tough, nearly indestructible, and usually carbon neutral or recycled materials.
A new imprint
7SL is Seven Sadie Lane’s lovechild. It is the more technical, adventurous, and specialized line unafraid to stand on its own.
For now, 7SL products will be featured on the Seven Sadie Lane site, though they will be easily filterable. Some markets will feature one line or the other and some will include both. And we’ll slowly be shifting 7SL content over to the line’s new Instagram: @7sl_gear
